Here's one of my favourite places I've discovered down this way. When I asked my Dunedin-born friends if they'd heard about the Pyramids out on the peninsula, all I got was blank stares! You have to drive out past portobello on the peninsula, and follow the dirt road out along next to the inlet before heading in through farmland. There's a lovely walk out to Victory Beach, which is huge and is framed by white cliffs on one side. You can climb the smaller of the two pyramids, there's a great view.
